# Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse – Tennessee**Start Date:** September 14, 2026 **Location:** Tennessee **Compensation:** Details provided to qualified applicants **Schedule:** 3 twelve-hour shifts per week; every other weekend required; self-scheduling with 4-week schedule blocks**Highlights:** - Progressive care environment with 34-bed and 25-bed units featuring patient ratios of 1:4 to 1:5 on days and 1:5 to 1:6 on nights- Advanced critical care skills including cardiac drips, insulin drips, heparin drips, BiPAPs, high flow oxygen, and Vapotherm management- Meditech electronic medical record system with dedicated unit secretaries and multiple patient care technicians for support- Specialized procedures performed on unit including peritoneal dialysis, thoracentesis, paracentesis, chest tube care, and central line management- Floating may occur between PCU units or to medical-surgical floors as needed- Strong team culture with "care like family" philosophy and high traveler extension rate**Requirements:** - Current RN license- BLS and ACLS certification required- Critical thinking skills with demonstrated EKG rhythm interpretation ability- Experience with cardiac drips, insulin drips, and heparin drips- Peripheral IV skills required- Stroke and post-cardiac catheterization care experience- Experience with BiPAPs, high flow oxygen systems, tube feedings, and NG/Dobhoff tubes- Peritoneal dialysis experience strongly preferred**Why It's a Great Opportunity:** This progressive care unit offers an excellent blend of critical care skills and collaborative teamwork in a supportive environment.
