Rental Technician

Eldora is the backyard winter mountain playground for Greater Denver, Boulder County, and Colorado's northern Front Range. Eldora is located just outside of the charming mountain town of Nederland, Colorado, about 20 miles west of Boulder and less than 50 miles from downtown Denver.

Eldora Mountain Resort employs up to 700 employees at peak season and has 680 acres of lift-accessible terrain for skiing and snowboarding, including a Woodward Mountain Park experience, and a world class Nordic Center.

Position Summary: As a Rental Technician, you play a key role in setting guests up for a safe, fun, and memorable day on the mountain. You'll outfit skiers and snowboarders with appropriate gear based on their measurements, ability level, and current slope conditions. Our rental shop serves a wide range of ability levels, so maintaining up-to-date product knowledge and equipment familiarity is essential to making informed recommendations and ensuring guest satisfaction. In addition to technical knowledge, this role requires strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:

• Greet guests and provide friendly, knowledgeable assistance throughout the rental process.
• Fit guests with appropriate ski or snowboard equipment based on their ability level, measurements, and current snow conditions.
• Adjust and test bindings to manufacturer specifications to ensure safety and performance.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the rental shop, including equipment storage and fitting areas.
• Inspect, clean, and perform basic maintenance on rental gear between uses.
• Process rental transactions using a point-of-sale (POS) system, including handling payments and issuing receipts.
• Communicate clearly with guests, answering questions and offering advice on equipment use and mountain conditions.
• Monitor inventory levels and assist with restocking and equipment rotation.
• Follow all safety guidelines and resort policies, including those related to guest service and equipment handling.
• Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure a smooth and efficient rental experience for guests.
• Adheres to all company safety policies and procedures, actively contributing to a safe working environment for self, coworkers, and guests.
• All employees are expected to support Eldora's corporate responsibility commitment to protect the environment by participating in our Sustainable Transportation Program. This includes choosing alternative transportation, carpooling, using the employee shuttle, and avoiding onsite parking on weekends and peak days. These actions help reduce Scope 3 emissions, lead by example, and ensure adequate parking for our guests.
• Must be able to work weekends and holidays as required by resort operations.

Specific Job Skills:

• High school degree or equivalent.
• Minimum age: 18 years old.
• Ability to pass background check to company standards.

Preferred Skills:

• Rental shop experience preferred but not required.
• Inventory experience preferred but not required.

Physical Demands:

• Bending, reaching, climbing, pushing, pulling & prolonged standing.
• Eye/hand coordination & visual concentration on equipment.
• Concentrated reading and writing.
• Must be able to lift and carry items up to 50 lbs.
• Variation in temperature from hot to cold.

Compensation & Benefits:

• Compensation: Proposed hiring rate of $18+ actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.
• Benefits: This is a seasonal position eligible for season pass for employees/dependents and privileges at several other resorts. Several discount programs (i.e. food & beverage, retail/rental, tickets, etc.) also available. Additionally, this position accumulates sick time.
