Employment Type: Full-Time or Part-Time
Schedule: Morning, Evening, and/or Weekend Shifts

Reports To: Program Director / Academic Director / School Director

Position Summary

AMAT Healthcare Institute is seeking a knowledgeable, professional, and motivated Registered Nurse (RN) Instructor to join our instructional team. The RN Instructor is responsible for providing high-quality classroom, laboratory, and hands-on instruction to students enrolled in healthcare training programs.

The instructor will combine professional nursing experience with effective teaching methods to help students develop the knowledge, clinical skills, professionalism, and competencies necessary for employment in healthcare settings.

Both full-time and part-time positions are available , with multiple scheduling options to accommodate qualified candidates.

Available Shifts

• Morning Mon-Fri: 9:00 AM – 2:15 PM
• Evening Mon-Fri: 5:00 PM – 10:15 PM
• Weekend: Saturday and Sunday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse Instructor will:

• Deliver classroom, laboratory, and practical instruction in accordance with the approved curriculum, course syllabus, lesson plans, and institutional policies.
• Teach healthcare and nursing-related subjects within the instructor's qualifications and assigned program.
• Demonstrate clinical procedures and provide students with supervised opportunities to practice required skills.
• Maintain a safe, professional, organized, and effective classroom and laboratory environment.
• Prepare lesson plans, instructional materials, presentations, assignments, examinations, and other learning activities.
• Evaluate student learning through examinations, quizzes, assignments, skills assessments, competency evaluations, and other approved assessment methods.
• Provide timely feedback to students regarding their academic performance and clinical skills.
• Monitor student attendance, participation, academic progress, professionalism, and satisfactory academic progress.
• Identify students who are experiencing academic or skills-related difficulties and provide appropriate remediation, tutoring, counseling, or referrals for additional support.
• Maintain accurate student attendance, grades, competency records, and other required academic documentation.
• Submit grades, attendance records, evaluations, and other required reports within established deadlines.
• Ensure that students follow infection-control procedures, safety standards, HIPAA requirements, professional conduct expectations, and applicable healthcare practices.
• Maintain classroom and laboratory equipment and notify administration of equipment, supply, or instructional resource needs.
• Participate in curriculum review, program evaluation, student assessment, faculty meetings, professional development, and institutional improvement activities.
• Assist with periodic review and improvement of course content to ensure instruction reflects current professional practices and standards.
• Participate in faculty evaluations, in-service training, continuing education, and professional development activities as required.
• Communicate professionally with students, faculty, administration, and clinical personnel.
• Serve as a positive professional role model and promote ethical behavior, accountability, respect, and professionalism among students.
• Perform other instructional and academic duties reasonably assigned by the Program Director, Academic Director, or School Director.

Requirements

• Active and unrestricted RN license.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, often with at least one year in a long-term care setting (varies by state).
• Prior teaching or instructional experience preferred, but not always required.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Employment Status

This position may be offered as either full-time or part-time , depending on the candidate's availability and the instructional needs of AMAT Healthcare Institute.

Full-time instructors may be assigned a combination of teaching, student support, academic preparation, faculty meetings, assessment, curriculum development, and administrative responsibilities.

Part-time instructors may be assigned specific courses, sections, laboratories, or instructional shifts based on program scheduling needs.

Work Schedule

AMAT Healthcare Institute offers multiple instructional schedules:

Morning Shift: 9:00 AM – 2:15 PM
Evening Shift: 5:00 PM – 10:15 PM
Weekend Shift: Saturday & Sunday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
